The day before your trip – Packing-&-To-Do List

Let’s be honest… How many times did you forget your phone charger or your toothbrush? Actually it used to happen to me quite often. And yes, I’m just sharing with you my Packing-&-To-Do List for the day before my trips. Some items won’t probably be necessary, depending on the place that you’re going but I included them all in order to cover all kinds of trips, independently of your destination. Just check all the items below before travelling and I’m pretty sure  you won’t forget anything!

1. Documents:

  • I.D. or Passport (and copies!)
  • Confirmation of reservations for accommodation and attractions
  • Student card (if you have one)
  • Credit/Debit card and cash
  • Paper with your blood type, allergies and contact in case of emergency (keep it in your wallet, close to your I.D.)
  • Travel guides

2. Electronics

  • Chargers for electronic devices
  • Power bank
  • Set your google maps to be available offline. You check how to do it here
  • Power strip
  • Headphones
  • Camera (and charger)
  • Memory card
  • Voltage adapter

3. For the flight

  • Sleeping mask
  • Travel pillow
  • Empty bottle to fill with water
  • Snacks

4. Toiletries

  • Small (less than 100mL) recipients with shampoo/shower gel
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Deodorant, perfume and other similar products
  • Face/Baby wipes and tissues
  • Hair elastics
  • Mini first aid kit (include some pain relievers, travel sickness pills, etc.)

5. Useful Clothes and similar:

  • Underwear and socks
  • Swimming wear
  • Raincoat
  • Clothes according to the weather conditions (don’t forget to check the forecast)
  • Clothes for a special event
  • Sunglasses
  • Pyjama!
  • Towels
  • Scarves

6. Others:

  • Plastic bags
  • Money belt
  • Padlock
  • Luggage tags
  • Pen and paper

The day before to do list:

  • Notify your neighbors
  • Take out the trash
  • Turn off/unplug everything
  • Download the necessary apps
  • Check the forecast
  • Check the airport WiFi information here
  • Check the airline allowed dimensions and weight of luggage
  • Save the phone numbers of the embassy and emergency numbers
  • Leave all the addresses and contact information to someone of your trust
  • Save some e-mails to be read offline
  • Set an “out off office” automatic reply for e-mails from work!
